Panaji, May 17 (PTI) The assembly bypoll to Cortalim constituency on June 4 is likely to be a triangular fight with two national parties and a regional outfit locking their horns to claim the South Goa seat. The BJP has fielded Alina, wife of former tourism minister Matanhy Saldanha, while Congress the local leader Raymond D'Sa. United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP), a regional political outfit, has also thrown its hat in the ring by nominating Ramakant Borkar for the byelection necessitated following demise of Matanhy Saldanha who got elected in the March 3 Goa Legislative Assembly election on BJP ticket. Today was the last day for filing nominations which will be scrutinised on May 18, while May 21 is the last date for withdrawal. PTI RPS NSK
