Indore, Jan 16 (PTI) Alleging that the Madhya Pradesh government is shielding doctors accused in the drug trials case, Rajiv Vikas Kendra, a frontal organisation of the Congress, today held a demonstration demanding that a criminal case be registered and doctors whose name figured in the episode be arrested here at MTH Compound. Scores of RVK activists holding placards and banners shouted anti-BJP government slogans alleging that 81 patients against whom the drugs were tried had died in entire state, but no action was ensured against the accused doctors, its President Devendra Singh Yadav said. The state government should also pay ex-gratia or compensation to the next of the kin of the deceased or victims of drug trial, Yadav said in a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister through Chief Medical and Health Office (CMHO). The state government should register a criminal case against them and arrest those who are found guilty, Yadav said, adding the government doctors had taken heavy commission from drug companies.
