Ludhiana, Feb 18 (PTI) A case of attempt to murder was today registered against two persons, including a local Congress leader here, a senior police officer said. "Attempt to murder case (u/s 307 IPC) was registered against Komal Khanna, a senior congress leader, and a former president of the district Youth Congress," Assistant Commissioner of Police Sapan Sharma said. The case was registered on a statement of victim Harvinder Singh (24) submitted to a magistrate in CMC hospital where he was admitted, Sharma said. According to the FIR, lodged in the City Kotwali this evening, Singh was attacked by three persons including Komal Khanna in Nawan Mohalla. They allegedly set Singh ablaze, Sharma said, adding that, after the victim raised an alarm the accused fled from the scene. According to the hospital authorities Harvinder has 60 per cent burns on his body and is serious. No arrest has been made so far, he said.
