Kohima, Feb 17 (PTI) Accusing the ruling Naga PeopleĀ's Front and NSCN (IM) of working together to destabilise the nation, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress has demanded immediate dismissal of the Neiphiu Rio government. "The meeting between NPF and NSCN (IM) leaders in Dimapur on January 4 has exposed the deep-rooted nexus between the two and their common agenda to destabilise the nation by fomenting unrest in the North-East, particularly in Nagaland and Manipur," NPCC said in a recent memorandum to Governor Nikhil Kumar. NPCC further alleged that the state government remained a silent spectator when factional killings between NSCN(K) and GPRN/NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) continued in different parts of Nagaland since their split last year. "The NPF government has completely failed to fulfil its constitutional obligation by failing to organise public functions during the last Republic Day in four district headquarters in the face of a strike call by a studentsĀ' organisation," said the memorandum, a copy of which was made available to the press today. During the Manipur assembly election campaign, the chief minister had "established" that a constitutionally elected state government was working with anti-national elements to destabilise the nation, the NPCC alleged. Since the governor of Nagaland has special powers and responsibility in matters of law and order under clause (b) of the Art 371 (A), NPCC demanded that the Rio government be dismissed immediately.
