Kolkata, Jun 30 (PTI) Amidst boycott by the opposition Left Front, the budgets of three departments in West Bengal for 2012-13 were today passed unopposed in the state assembly. The budgets passed covered the departments of Power and Non-Conventional Energy Sources, Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Sundarban Affairs. The opposition LF members remained absent after walking out yesterday to protest that most pertaining to the chief minister's departments were deleted. Criticising the opposition boycott, Panchayat, Rural Development and PHE Minister Subrata Mukherjee said it was undemocratic. Mukherjee regretted that opposition members preferred to speak at press conferences rather than in the House. PTI AKB
