BJP on door-to-door campaign for Mahaboobnagar assembly bypoll
Hyderbad, Mar 15 (PTI) As the campaign for assembly by-election at Mahaboobnagar ends tomorrow evening, BJP has intensified door-to-door campaign for its candidate, Y Srinivas Reddy. The party's legal cell would be organising an election rally in Mahaboobnagar town where over 1,000 lawyers affiliated to BJP as well as those affiliated to Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee would participate, state BJP general secretary, N Ramachander Rao, said here. Expressing confidence that BJP would win the seat, Rao said the people wanted to test his party which was supporting the cause of Telangana people openly, after voting for other parties in the past. He challenged Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, who represents Mahaboobnagar in the Parliament, to resign and contest the election without support of any other party. Alleging that TRS chief was adopting the Congress policy of "Muslim appeasement", the BJP leader said Rao always talked about reservations for Muslims and the performance of erstwhile Nizam government, and forgets it the moment he stepped down from dais. He appealed to people of Mahaboobnagar to vote for BJP and pave the way for formation of separate Telangana state.
