New Delhi, Feb 10 (PTI) The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited officials today said the Metro line was witnessing a greater rush on weekends than week days which had left them "surprised". "At present, I think there is a lot of novelty factor that is working. A lot of tourists visit Bangalore and it is a tourist attraction," N Sivasailam, the MD of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRC) said here. "It is a surprise for us also. All our estimate has proved correct for the week days and it is exactly going as per the book. But weekends we are surprised though it is a good surprise," he told a press conference. Union Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna said families in Bangalore were fond of going out on weekends and since the metro was a safe way to travel, especially for women, people were using the Bangalore Metro more often.
