Aligarh, Dec 22 (PTI) The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is helping the government of Iran publish Urdu, Hindi and English versions of a thousand years old Persian manuscript, "Nahjul Balagha". The original work, which is in Arabic, is considered a masterpiece in Arabic literature. This iconic manuscript is a rare Islamic chronicle containing authentic sayings, speeches and letters of the Fourth Caliph of Islam Hazrat Ali, former foreign minister of Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr Ali Akbar Villayati said here yesterday at the concluding golden jubliee function of Maulana Azad libary at the AMU. His (Hazrat Ali) thoughts are of great relevance because he was also the son-in-law of the Prophet of Islam and a pioneering figure in the world of Sufism, Villayati said. This manuscript is one of the most original scholarly narratives in Islamic literature and has great relevance for scholars, he added.
