Mumbai, Apr 16 (PTI) Asserting that adequate stock of fertilisers is available in Maharashtra, the Government today said the Centre has sanctioned 44 lakh metric tonnes of fertilisers to the state this year. "There will be no scarcity of fertilisers this year," Agriculture Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil said in the Legislative Council. He was replying to a calling attention motion moved by Deepakrao Salunkhe. "There will be transparency in distribution system. Fertilisers will be distributed on time and as per the requirement of the farmers," he assured. Groups of farmers will be constituted at taluka and district levels to facilitate smooth distribution of fertilisers through them, the Minister added.
