Amritsar, Feb 13 (PTI) Akali Dal (Delhi) Punjab unit chief Jaswinder Singh Baliawal today asked the Akal Takht Jathedar to initiate action against SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar for allowing Jasbir Singh Alhuwalia to rejoin as Guru Granth Sahib World University Vice-Chancellor. In a letter to Jathedar Gurbachan Singh, Baliawal said "Makkar has allowed Alhuwalia to rejoin as Vice Chancellor of the Guru Granth Sahib World University." "The present VC cannot provide leadership to the great University. The VC and his family are Patit Sikhs. They allegedly have no faith in Sikhism," he said. A petition had also been pending against him in the High Court, Baliawal said. "Moreover, the VC is overage and cannot hold this office," he said. PTI CORR RKC
