Erode (TN), Jan 19 (PTI) Three textile dyeing units allegedly operating without licence and found discharging untreated effluents have been demolished by Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board officials here. Acting on a complaint, a team of TNPCB officials yesterday visited Choolai area. On ascertaining that the units had no licence, they disconnected power supply and demolished the factories with the help of earth movers, officials said today. Before the demolition started, important machineries were removed by the owners. Since May, 2010, a total of 237 unauthorised textile factories had been demolished, they said. PTI COR VS
