Patna, Feb 16 (PTI) A court in Bihar's Patna district today sentenced three persons to life imprisonment and acquitted another in a case of abduction of a filmmaker for extortion four years ago. Additional District and Session Judge Ramesh Chandra Singh passed the order convicting Rajesh Kumar Singh, Deepak Kumar and Narendra Kumar - to life and imposed fine of Rs.25,000 on each after finding them guilty in the abduction case of a Mumbai-based filmmaker Braj Tak in May 2009 and demanding Rs.one crore ransom for freeing him. The court, however, acquitted the fourth accused Govind Kumar for lack of evidence against him. According to prosecution, Tak - a filmmaker based in Oshiwara locality in Mumbai - was lured by the aductors to visit Patna on May 21, 2009 for signing an agreement for making a documentary film on railway safety and was abducted for ransom soon after he came out of the Patna airport on the fateful day. The filmmaker was later freed by the abductors at Motihari railway station under pressure from the police. Tak had later lodged an FIR in connection with his abduction and ransom demand at the Airport police station. PTI CORR KDK SUS VMN
