3 mediapersons held on the charge of extortion

New Delhi, Nov 10 (PTI) Three media persons were arrested here for allegedly trying to extort Rs five lakh from a Unani doctor after capturing him on camera prescribing allopathy medicine, police said today. The arrested have been identified as Himanshu Tiwari (29), Sachin Mishra (33) and Saurabh Tripathi (21). While Tiwari is a freelance journalist who had earlier worked with AtoZ channel, Mishra is Manager, Information Technology, in INDIA TV. Tripathi is a System Administrator in INDIA TV. "The doctor was threatened and extorted by th emedia persons who made a video film of his clinic in which the doctor was shown attending to a patient and prescribing allopathic medicine and demanded Rs. 5 lakh from him. "Yesterday, they were called at Jeevan Anmol Hospital in Mayur Vihar Phase-I to take delivery of Rs. 1.5 lakh in return for a pen drive of the video made by them," police said. Tripathi was arrested when he allegedly came to collect money while the others were arrested later. PTI SJY PAL
