The second round of conciliation talks between the Bosch management and agitating employees of its Adugodi plant convened by Additional Labour Commissioner today have failed, workers' union MEA said today.

"The conciliation meeting failed after Bosch management rejected our demand asking for reference of the stalemate to the arbitration of labour tribunal judge," MICO Employees' Association Executive Committee (MEA) President N M
Adayanthaya told PTI.

The workers have been on relay hunger strike since October 2 protesting the company's decision to outsource manufacturing of some products.

The fact that the management was reluctant to refer the stalemate to labour tribunal judge showed that they were guilty of violating terms agreement signed between the management and MEA under the 2009-2012 wage settlement provisions, he said.

Adayanthya said the ball was now in the court of the state government as the Additional Labour Commissioner Gurudas Bhatt had sent the minutes of conciliation meeting to Labour Secretary Jyoti Ramalingam, who 'may convene a meeting to resolve the stalemate."

The employees would continue their relay hunger strike, he said.

Bosch had in a statement termed the strike as illegal and said it violated an agreement signed in October 2010.
