2 SP MLAs lock horn over piece of land

Faizabad, Feb 19 (PTI) The infighting within the SP cadre came to the fore today when Sarita Singh, wife of SP MLA Abhay Singh, lodged an FIR against another party MLA Mitrasen Yadav, and 10 others for allegedly trying to grab a prime piece of land in the heart of the city. Yesterday, a case of forgery was registered in Kotwali area of the city here against Sarita for "illegally" possessing the land worth crores of rupees. Sarita was accused of "illegally" possessing the land by using forge documents of purchase, police said. Complainant Ram Ajor Yadav had claimed that the said land was awarded to him in 1969 on lease by the district administration, police said. The controversial land, which is in Ram Nagar locality of the city, has been registered in the name of a firm, Divyanshi Developers, owned by Sarita. Yadav alleged that Abhay wanted to grab the land by using his political pressure and muscles power. Later today, Sarita approached the police and filed a case against 11 persons, including SP MLA from Bikapur constituency Mitrasen Yadav. Sarita claimed that she had purchased that land from one Vineeta Moris about one-and-a-half month back after completing all legal process, said Janardan Dube, station house officer of Kotwali. Abhay alleged that the complainant (Ram Ajor) was working on the behest of Mitrasen. "The case has been referred to District Magistrate to ascertain the actual position from the revenue department about the status of the land," said Sashi Sekhar Singh, Circle Officer(City).
