12-year-old raped by neighbour in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jan 21 (PTI) A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an ayurvedic chemist at his residence in suburban Bandra, police said today. Accused Mohammed Tahir Asnari (48) has been arrested. The accused called the minor to his home in Darga galli slum on the pretext of some work and sexually abused her after giving her some medicine, police said. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she informed anybody. The victim, who stays with her aunt, told her about the incident today following which an FIR was registered, police said, adding further probe is on. PTI VM DK ASY PTP
