Volvo Polestar S60 concept breaks cover

Volvo's BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG rival is finally ready - the S60 Polestar concept. The inline six T6 engine in the regular S60 has been tweaked to produce 508PS of power and 574Nm of torque. The modifications in the engine include new air intake, inlet manifold, cylinder head, combustion chamber, Garret 3171 turbo, special conrods and Ferrita 3.5" stainless steel exhaust system. Volvo promises that the S60 Concept will shoot from naught to 100 in 3.9s and will have a top speed in excess of 300kmph.

The focus behind this concept was to deliver a Volvo drive experience combined with high levels of power and grip. The chassis has been reinforced with a tuned Haldex four-wheel drive system and suspension from Ohlins. Volvo says that the Volvo Polestar S60 concept will be suitable for both long distance jaunts and high-revving action. Depending on the market response, Volvo may think of putting this car to production.
