Volvo launches the most powerful truck for Indian shores

Volvo trucks, the world's leading producer of heavy trucks and commercial vehicles has launched the FH520 Powertronic tractor at the Auto Expo, making it one of the most technologically advanced and powerful truck in the country. The FH520 Powertronic has a fully automatic PT2606 gear box, designed specially to handle an engine torque of 2600Nm. The gear-box also has an in-built hydraulic torque convertor and allows manual gear changes via gear lever buttons. The sturdy torque amplifier offers enhanced load pulling and hill climbing ability along with a driveline which offers a maximum speed of 59kmph in unladen conditions and 38kmph in laden conditions. The FH5200 Powertronic has a payload capacity of 200 tonne and can be used on public and private roads with special permit from Ministry of Surface Transport. The launch of the FH520 follows the FH-16, another truck launched earlier this year for the European markets. With 707PS power and 3150Nm torque the FH-16 turns out to be the most powerful truck in the world. Here is the original press release"

The Volvo FH520 Powertronic is the most powerful and technologically advanced truck available in India, meant for the heaviest and most demanding transportation needs. Volvo FH520 Powertronic comes with Volvo PT2606 gearbox which is fully-automatic with a built-in hydraulic torque converter and offers the possibility of manual gear changes through gear-lever buttons. PT2606 is dimensioned for engine torque of 2600 Nm and is specially developed for heavy transport operations where it offers the advantage of smooth, gentle gear changes without any interruption in power delivery and permits safe starts even in difficult conditions.
