TVS Motor has launched two new steeds for the Indian masses - the Jive, which is the country's first auto-clutch motorcycle and the Wego, which is an automatic scooter. The Jive is a 110cc four stroke motorcycle producing 8.4PS@7500rpm of power with 8.3Nm@5500rpm of torque. Weighing 110kg with a wheelbase of 1260mm, the Jive features TVS' T- matic technology and runs a rotary gear system mated to an automatic clutch. The Jive has no clutch lever, which enables clutch-less gear shifts besides the allowing the rider to shift to neutral even from top gear. That apart, the Jive also has an anti stall mechanism making it possible to ride the bike at low speeds even if in higher gears. Also, unlike conventional motorcycles the Jive has underseat storage space to stash water bottles, documents and the like.

The Wego, on the other hand is a 110cc automatic scooter, with an all aluminum engine, and targeted at those looking for a family scooter. Developing 8.1PS@7500rpm, TVS claims the fuel efficiency of the Wego will be class leading. Also, the scooter features multi-reflector halogen headlights and an LED stoplight. The Wego is the first scooter in its segment to sport gas filled rear shock absorbers, and runs 12-inch alloy wheels. The underseat storage bin can hold a full face helmet and has a charger to charge a cell. The Jive is expected to hit showrooms by mid-December, while the Wego will be made available only in January 2010, after the Auto Expo. The Jive is priced at Rs. 41000, ex-showroom Chennai, while the Wego is expected to be priced at around Rs. 40000.
