Jaguar & Land Rover Ready to Expand

Jaguar and Land Rover, currently with only a single dealership in India situated in Mumbai, is all set to explore the country after an announcement made by Tata Motors Premier Car Division stated that it has issued letter of intents for dealerships in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Ludhiana. While still in the process of setting up a sales and after sales service infrastructure, the dealers are expected to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2010 with AMP Motors given the job of representing the brands in New Delhi, while Inline 4 Motors and Dada Motors will set up in Hyderabad and Ludhiana respectively. Land Rover's 2010 model year range consists of the Free Lander 2, Discovery 4 and the Range Rover while the 'Big Cat' family is set to expand with the flagship XJ soon to join the XF, XFR and XKR in the showrooms. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajiv Dube, President, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, "We have further plans to expand into other major metros and the process of identification of suitable partners in other cities will continue through the new year of 2010."

Mumbai, January 4, 2010:

Tata Motors Premier Car Division announced today that it has issued letter of intents for Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Ludhiana. This marks the first phase of expansion of the Jaguar and Land
Rover network in India beyond Mumbai.

AMP Motors will represent the two iconic brands in New Delhi while Inline 4 Motors has been appointed as the franchise partner in Hyderabad.  Dada Motors, an existing Tata Motors dealer has been appointed as the Jaguar and
Land Rover dealer in Ludhiana.

Mr Rajiv Dube, President, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Motors, said "The newly identified dealer partners displayed a great degree of passion, market knowledge and capability to nurture and grow the two iconic brands in their respective territories and we are confident that they will enable us to tap the full competitive potential in those markets. We have further plans to expand into other major metros and the process of identification of suitable partners in other cities will continue through the new year of 2010"

The newly appointed dealers are in the process of setting up their sales and after sales service infrastructure and are expected to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2010.

Tata Motors currently distributes the Jaguar XF, Jaguar XFR & XKR to which the new Jaguar flagship XJ will soon be added as well as Land Rover's new 2010 model year range - the Free Lander 2, Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport and the flagship Range Rover - in India.
