Hero Motocorp first displayed the 125cc Ignitor at the 2012 Auto Expo . Though there is no official word on the launch of the motorcycle, the company has put up prices on their website. The Hero Ignitor is priced at Rs 58,638 for the drum brake version while the top end trim is priced at Rs 60,740 ex-Mumbai.

The Ignitor has a 124.77cc air-cooled engine which produces 11PS of power and 11Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox handles the transmission duties. The chassis is of the diamond type while the wheels at front and rear sport tubeless rubber.

The Ignitor is essentially Hero's version of the Honda CBF Stunner . There are subtle differences in the design elements though. The headlamp visor on the Ignitor is similar to its bigger-engined sibling, the Hunk. The rear view mirrors on the Ignitor have a dual tone colour to them depending on the body colour. The engine cowl however sports a black finish while the Stunner has a body-coloured cowl. The silencer heat shield is a bit more extended on the Ignitor than on the Stunner. The Stunner does away with the kick-lever while its counterpart retains it on all the variants.

The biggest and most noticeable change is that the Ignitor has a digital-analog combo meter console while the Stunner persists with an all analogue combination. Significantly, the Stunner makes its peak torque of 11Nm at 6500rpm while the Hero Ignitor does it 1500rpm lower. This will help the Hero product to be adept in city traffic. The Ignitor though doesn't have a fuel injected variant as of now, which the Stunner does.

Here is a price comparison between the Hero Ignitor and the Honda CBF Stunner ex-showroom Mumbai

Model Ignitor Stunner
Self Drum Rs 58,638 -
Self Disc Rs 60,740 Rs 59,980
Fuel Injected - Rs 70,238
