Moisture laden winds from either side of the Peninsular India will continue to bring rain during the next two days. The southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea are surging towards the West coast with bands of rain and clouds. Northwesterly dry winds are colliding with them from north konkan coast to west central Bay of Bengal to form a trough across Madhya Maharashtra, south Marathwada and Telangana to Andhra coast.

Due to these weather conditions, light to moderate rain will occur along Goa, Maharashtra coast as well as over Madhya Maharashtra, south Marathwada and Telangana. The commercial capital Mumbai will also witness light to moderate rain during the next 48 hours.

In the east, the low pressure area in west central Bay of Bengal near coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh remains rejuvenated. The inland trough (region of intensified moist winds) continues to persist from south Jharkhand to north Tamil Nadu across Orissa, south Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Both these weather systems will keep the rain active over southern Peninsula. Moderate rain is expected over Rayalaseema and south Karnataka.

North India is witnessing a Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir that is likely to interact with the western end of monsoon trough and bring scattered rain in parts of Haryana and Uttarakhand during the next two days. Dry weather thereafter will push the temperatures above normal in the region.

East India will receive rain at a few places over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal due to the moist southerly and southeasterly winds. Northeast India is witnessing a cyclonic circulation over Meghalaya and its nearby areas. The weather system is fetching moisture from the Bay of Bengal and increasing chances of rain in the region. Isolated heavy rain is also predicted here.
