According to a report in NDTV, currently, the Jeep Compass has a waiting period of three months. Even then, this might be the right time to book the car as the GST Council has decided to increase the cess levied on luxury automobiles which would result in the car getting dearer in the future.

Jeep Compass is going to get costlier by more than Rs 1,50,000

Jeep Compass was launched on July 31 this year and within days the car received 5,000 bookings. The Jeep Compass offers two engine options – a 1.4 L Multiair Petrol unit and a 2.0 L Multijet II Diesel unit, both of which are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. There is also an additional seven-speed DDCT (Dry Dual Clutch Transmission).

However, it is the price at which Jeep is offering its SUV which is grabbing eyeballs. The price of Jeep Compass has been slated between Rs 14.95 lakhs (entry-level, Sport, petrol) to Rs 20.65 lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi for the range-topping diesel).

Presently, Jeep has 50 dealers across 47 countries and plans to increase this to 60 dealers by the end of this year. And to look after its customers, Jeep has also announced that the Compass will be getting MOPAR after sales service, which happens to be the international ‘service wing’ of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles).
