Temperatures to decrease in Northern India due to widespread rain
Low pressure has formed over east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining north east Madhya Pradesh, associated with an upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 3.1 km above sea level. Another low pressure area can be observed over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal, associated with an upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to mid troposphere. The Western Disturbance over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir will persist as an upper air trough.
During this period, widespread moderate spells of rain will be witnessed over Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, parts of Telangana, coastal Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh coast. Moderate rain is also likely over west Uttar Pradesh, part of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. However, the intensity of rain is expected to decrease over Rajasthan and Gujarat, while it would increase over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and east Madhya Pradesh. Few moderate spells of shower is expected over the North Eastern states, south Konkan and Karnataka coast. On the other hand, rain would occur in isolated pockets over Maharashtra, south Tamil Nadu and adjoining Kerala.
The temperature is expected to increase over parts of Haryana, Punjab, Uttarkhand, and Rajasthan by a couple of degrees. In rest of the North West plains, temperatures will drop by few notches due to widespread rain. On the other hand, east Bihar and North Eastern states are likely to witness temperatures above normal by 1 to 2 degrees.
In central India temperatures will remain near normal, except for Gujarat and Kutch, where temperatures might increase by a couple of notches. Temperatures will be below normal down south, in coastal Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
