"The Indian semiconductor ecosystem is ready; we now dream of an electronic ecosystem,'' declared chipmaker Texas Instruments, while showcasing electronic products based on its chips at a developer conference in the city.
From making a tooth drill noiseless, to powering a smart IP (internet protocol) surveillance camera and portable ultrasound equipment, the company's processors are being used in a variety of electronic products that change daily lives.
While demonstrating high definition video conferencing using a solution by Lifesize Communication, Mr Bobby Mitra, Managing Director, Texas Instruments, said, "India is now the market and we want to ride the wave."
The video conferencing solution runs on five of TI's DM642 processor, and offers 1280x720 pixel resolution, at 30 frames per second over the Internet. The solution costs from $8,000 to $12,000.
