While most people are swooning over the best iPhone yet, the iPhone 4S; sales of the iPhone 3GS have been going strong, considering the fact that it has been around for around two and a half years now. This handset came out around the same time as one of the first Android devices, but it still manages to generate sales, despite the lifespan of smartphones being significantly reduced. When Apple announced the iPhone 4S, they still did not discontinue the iPhone 3GS and this is like due to the fact that they are trying to manufacture handsets for all price segments. A report by DigiTimes claims that this trend does not appear to be changing and OEM production of their entry level handset is set to reach over 2 million units by the fourth quarter of 2011. |
