All the rumours and leaks will come to an end today, on August 16, as Nokia 8 is set to be launched at an event in London. The phone which is slated to be the most expensive phone yet from the Finnish company is going to position itself in the premium range of phones to compete against the likes of upcoming Apple iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy series.
The phone is expected to be priced upwards of Rs 41,000. However, the company is also coming with its another high-end phone Nokia 9 which will be priced around 45,000.
According to an NDTV report, the time of the launch event is 7.30 BST or 12 midnight IST. The event is expected to be streamed on YouTube by the promoters of the company, HMD Global.
Although nothing is certain, according to leaked details, the phone is coming with Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.45 gigahertz. Many other popular smartphones like OnePlus 5 currently use this processor.
The phone which will be launched in Europe initially is equipped with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. The company is expected to launch a single SIM variant of the model as it has done with earlier models.
The phone is tipped to come at least in four colour variants—Blue, Silver/steel, Gold and Copper. Rumours had also suggested that the phone would come with dual speakers, iris and fingerprint scanners.
