NIIT designs course for engg graduates
To improve the employability skills of fresh engineering graduates, information technology training company NIIT has launched a five-semester long course called `Integrated ANIIT for Engineers,' (IAE).
The IAE course is positioned as an additional degree programme that will make students `first-day-job-ready'. Besides guaranteed employment, students graduating from the IAE course will also be capable of passing global certificate programmes such as those of Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, said Mr Raghavan.
Priced at about Rs 56,000, IAE will focus on three broad areas - core programming logic and problem structuring, disciplinary subjects (like Java, .NET and other software) and communication skills besides an industry-oriented project. The 600-hour course will be spread across classroom and computer-based training conducted at NIIT centres.
