NEW YORK (Reuters) - Intel Corp., the world's largest chipmaker, plans to announce an initiative that could lead to a new class of wireless hand-held computers, the New York Times reported on its Web site on Monday.
The initiative is one of several technological advances that the company plans to announce at the Intel Developer Forum in China this week, the Times said, citing unnamed sources.
The hand-held computers initiative is aimed at creating devices that are larger than palmtops but smaller than notebooks, the paper said.
An Intel representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
