EMC Corporation has announced the availability of EMC Documentum xCP Saksham eGov Case Management, an easy-to-use and quick-to-deploy case management solution for government departments and agencies in India. The solution automates key processes typical in most government operations.Case management, a pattern of work that requires a group of people to systematically collaborate on content and data, is pervasive across all government functions. Whether to make a law, or approve a purchase order, most government departments perform similar functions of initiating, reviewing and approving case files. Citizen-facing government services such as tax processing, issuing of driver’s license, visa and passports, criminal justice matters are also common requirements for case management solutions. The Documentum xCP Saksham eGov Case Management solution automates processes through a configurable Web-based user interface, uniting process and content management under a common intelligent case management framework. As a result, users get visibility into business operations for improved service levels and decision making. The solution helps organisations manage policies, enable repeatable processes and meet compliance needs including full audit trail capabilities without disrupting the familiar workflow of government agencies. The Documentum xCP Saksham eGov Case Management solution was developed from the ground up by EMC’s Center of Excellence in India to address the needs of Indian government customers based on extensive discussions and successful deployments at Indian government agencies. EMC’s Center of Excellence in India is the company’s largest R&D centre outside of North America.Rajesh Janey, President, EMC India & SAARC said, “Government departments in India are increasingly digitising data and services, and recognising the need to collaborate more closely within their workflow, as is evident from the proposed Electronic Service Delivery Bill and National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy. As government departments deploy more electronic-based citizen services, it will be important to implement automated case management workflows to speed-up services delivery and ensure transparency. The EMC xCP Saksham eGov Case Management solution hence is a step in optimising the use of technology in e-governance.”
