The delivery of the petrol variant of Jeep Compass will commence around Diwali. The report comes as a relief for many as the booking for the model had begun long back in June.
According to an Autocar India report, while both petrol and diesel variants had been launched together, the delivery of the latter had begun as early as August. As per the reports the company will start the delivery of the automatic petrol variant first followed by that of the manual version.
As reported earlier by Moneycontrol, the petrol variant will come with a 1.4 litre petrol engine generating maximum power of 162ps. Coming in three variants i.e. Sport, Longitude and Limited and spread across seven trims the SUV will come in seven-speed auto or six-speed manual gearbox.
The model is seeing a rise in demand and had crossed 10,000 booking mark last month.
Manufactured at the FCA plant at Ranjangoan, Pune, it is expected that the units manufactured at the plant will be used for sale in both local and international market.Priced approximately between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh and in five colours, the model is seen as a rival to market leaders like Honda CR-V, the Hyundai Tucson and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
