Honda launches Grazia at Rs 57879, looks to strengthen scooter market

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India today launched the automatic scooter Grazia at Rs 57,879 (ex-showroom, Delhi) to further strengthen its hold on the burgeoning scooter market.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India today launched the automatic scooter Grazia at Rs 57,879 (ex-showroom, Delhi) to further strengthen its hold on the burgeoning scooter market.

The Grazia, powered by a 125cc single cylinder engine, is targeted at the young urban buyer looking for speed, peppiness and style.

It is also the first scooter with an all-digital instrumentation and also the first to have three-step eco-speed indicator. The Grazia will be equipped with a combi brake system with an equalizer.

Minoru Kato, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said, “The Grazia is the most advanced scooter in its category with industry-first features like LED head lamp, fully digital meter”.

The two-wheeler also gets a utility pocket to keep mobile phones. An optional phone charger is also on offer. The Grazia will come in six colours in three variants with the top-end getting disc brakes.

This is the second scooter from Honda featuring a 125cc engine, the first being the Activa 125. The Grazia will compete against scooters from Yamaha, Mahindra and Suzuki.

The Aprilia SR 150 is the closest competitor in terms of styling and positioning to the Grazia. This is also the second product from Honda which has headlamps embedded within the front lower body rather than the handle bar.

Honda has a market share of 59 percent in the scooter segment and the company aims to become number one by 2020 in India.
