Find out all about the budget and how it affects your pocket, that too, minus the jargon. Get tips from experts on what you can do now. Also meet people like you and find out what they think about the budget. Here, we spoke to Priyanka Naik, a student of journalism.

Name: Priyanka Naik
Age: 21
What are you studying? Journalism
What do you want: A HP Compaq 6515b laptop.
How much does it cost: Rs 56,000

What happened in the budget for her?

The measure: 16 more central universities, 2 IISCs in Bhopal and Trivandrum and 2 Institutes of Planning and Architecture in Bhopal and Vijayawada. INSPIRE - a special scholarship for studies in science and research.

The impact: You will now find a college or university in your town or closer to your home town. Also, you can hope to get scholarships for higher studies and research in science.

The measure: Customs duty cut on certain electronic and hardware.

The impact: Computers and laptops may be cheaper, if the benefits of duty cut are passed on.

What is her reaction?
The Finance Minister seems to be concerned only with students pursuing science courses. What about other courses such as arts, journalism and even Masters in Business Administration (MBA)? He has ignored a large part of the students.

What can she do now?
She may now consider buying her laptop if the customs duty cut in specific hardware translates to cheaper laptops.
