"Indian Railways have been procuring power through the State Utilities at an average rate of Rs 6.75 per unit. Adani Power Ltd have been awarded the contract at a landed tariff of Rs 3.69 per kWH (unit) for a period of three years," Indian Railways said in press statement issued after inking the pact.
The Union government has decided to revive the long-stricken Dabhol power plant by arriving at an arrangement in consultation in key stakeholders, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said today.
"Dabhol will be revived. How can we afford in a country like ours to leave one project to get killed by itself. Many options are being considered and it has to be revived," NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Arup Roy Choudhury said.
The Power Ministry has proposed that any additional gas after meeting the requirement of the urea plants will be given to Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Ltd. RGPPL was set up to takeover and revive the assets of Dabhol Power Company Project.

The power ministry has revised the list of power projects for gas allocation suggesting that four central and state power projects get gas, reports CNBC-TV18's Mehak Kasbekar quoting sources.
