**Bad financial year for market: Nifty falls 9%, Sensex down 10.5%

**Finance turmoil across the globe, government's inability to trigger reforms and overall lethargy in the system weighed on Indian equities in FY12.

***However, strong inflow of foreign money (more than Rs 53,000 crore, out of which 85-90% came in Q4FY12) towards the end help salvage some of the losses - negative 20.5% (till December) to negative 9-10% at the close of the year.
