Sudarshan Sukhani, s2analytics.com is of the view that upbeat on largecap stocks and strongly advise against going for midcaps and certainly very much against momentum midcaps.
Sukhani told CNBC-TV18, "The momentum infrastructure group is completely down and out. We have seen a rally and that rally collapsed, virtually gave away. So this is not a good time to buy. The focus should be on blue chips. We are looking at Hindustan Unilever , Tata Motors, Infosys, TCS, that kind of stocks. I would strongly advise against going for midcaps and certainly very much against momentum midcaps." He further added, " HDFC has rallied a lot. I will give you a name. For example, JP Associates you have just been talking about it. I would assume that’s one of the better, let’s call it a midcap or not a momentum stock. JP Associates is giving a very good chart, so is Tata Motors, Cipla and Ranbaxy. So these are stocks where we should be buying and that the same applies to ICICI Bank, Axis. HDFC you name, but HDFC because of rally that it’s already seen may not be the best stock to gain more momentum." "I track Everonn Education very closely. It’s not doing very well. I am so sorry. I have to contradict you. It’s doing very well only today. if somebody bought Everonn on this basis of doing well he would have bought at Rs 440 and held it all the way to Rs 150. It’s not enough. So I would completely avoid Everonn. I suggested avoiding it at Rs 440 and you can see the prices yourself. It’s been justified. One or two days or rallies are not enough to buy momentum or such stocks. Opto Circuits is a very big disappointment. It sometime says, okay it willing to go up, but those are relief rallies just in a bear market. It collapses again. Just completely avoid Opto Circuits."
