Shahina Mukadam Of IDBI Capital Market is of the view that media, construction and engineering and pharma are themes that will play out in 2007.
Mukadam told CNBC-TV18, "Among the themes that I think will play out in 2007, some very important developments are taking in the media sector. I would be very positive on the developments happening there for example I don't think that the earnings that we have seen or the current multiples factor in the upsides that would factor in the full implementation of CAS. You have media companies restructuring their operations, so all in all we could see some sort of a interest in this sector as and when we see these developments translating into numbers. Zee is of course one of the leading stocks out there that stock looks good. TV18, Sun TV and some of the smaller regional channels look good."
She further added, "While construction and engineering have performed very well last year I think the order book position is really good and it would continue to play out even in the current year. One sector which has not performed last year was the pharmaceuticals I think we are in for better times this year with a number of new product launches really expected to add to the bottomlines, we could see some big moves out there."
