Sharmila Joshi of Asit C Mehta is of the view that one can hold on SRF for long term.

Joshi told CNBC-TV18, "SRF can be a long term play. We have seen that the stock started running up because it was a carbon credit story. We have seen money coming into adding to the bottomline, EPS is looking good.  Now they are sitting on cash. The base business that the company is in, is not doing too badly either. They are looking at making some other investments; they have already indicated that they could be meeting to discuss ideas and maybe getting into some new ventures."

She further added, "Even the carbon credit gain is not a one-time gain, one is going to see the gains coming in at regular intervals. At current price and given the kind of EPS it has, it is not looking expensive at all. So I would recommend a hold on the stock especially for a longer term with maybe a year and year and a half perspective."
