Venu Srinivasan is the grandson of the legendary businessman TV Sundaram who founded the TVS Group. Even so, things didn’t quite come on a platter for Srinivasan who joined the group as a mechanic in the TVS garage.

In 1979, Srinivasan who is trained as an engineer and an MBA from Purdue University, took over as a CEO of Sundaram Clayton. The same year, the TVS Motor company was born under his leadership. Today TVS Motor company is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and among the top-ten in the world. With an annual turnover of more than USD 1 billion in 2007-2008, it is the flagship company of the USD 4 billion TVS Group. Venu Srinivasan is also the president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
