Rupee opens at 49.56 per dollar

The Indian rupee opened at 49.56 per dollar versus 49.50 yesterday.

Manis Thanawala, Greenback Forex said, "The rupee is likely to remain sideways on equity market cues & the euro's movement. Investors will also watch out for the December IIP data which is expected to be around 4%. The range for the day is seen between 49.30-49.75/USD."
