Raymond Q2 net jumps 84% to Rs 92 cr

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,224 crore during the second quarter, from Rs 1,114 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

    Textiles company Raymond Ltd today reported 84 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 92 crore for its second quarter ended September, 2013-14. The company had a net profit of Rs 50 crore in the  July-September quarter of 2012-13.


    Net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,224 crore during the second quarter, from Rs 1,114 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. While the textiles segment sales grew by 7 percent to Rs 559 crore, the apparel segment saw an increase of 9 percent to Rs 254 crore, Raymond said in a statement.


    "We will continue to focus on improving operational efficiencies, strengthening of our brand portfolio, and expanding retail coverage to consolidate our leadership position in the industry," Raymond CMD Gautam Hari Singhania said.
