New deals at 3-4% higher prices: Infy

Infosys Technologies has come out with its Q2 numbers. Retail business is up 27%, energy and utilities up 19%, and manufacturing is up 13% on a QoQ basis. Offshore revenues is up 2.9% while onsite revenues has seen an upside of 2.6%. According to the company's management, new contracts are coming at 3-4% higher prices while existing clients are coming in at 2-3% higher prices.

 

Amitabh Chaudhry , CEO, Infosys BPO, said client traction is very strong. "Yes, we are seeing a general increase in the size of overall deals because people are talking about longer tenures. We are seeing the average deal sizes move up. With the Phillips acquisition, which we closed as of October 1, we have already receiving a number of enquiries from people all around the world who obviously think we can deliver the global model very well. We expect deal sizes to continue to go up as we move forward."

 

The software major has seen significant growth in financial services, telecom, manufacturing, and retail segments in the European market, said Srinivas BG , Senior Vice-Presdient, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Infosys Technologies. "Today, we have over 17 offices in Europe and most of them are across Western Europe. Together with the Phillips acquisition we have one more center in Poland and over 100 active clients last quarter, up 27.4% from 26.8%. We continue to see growth across sectors. Financial services, telecom, manufacturing, and retail have shown significant growth in the last two quarters," he added.

 

For the first half, Infosys has seen revenues of half a billion dollars and the company is on its way to touch billion dollars for the first time, he said.

 

On the British Telecom order, SD Shibulal , COO, Infosys, said, "BT is one of our larger clients. We have a number of conversations going on with them. Many of those deals are in various stages, so I would reserve my comments on that."
