Sun Pharma Q2 PAT seen down 47% at Rs 271 cr

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries is to announce its second quarter results. According to CNBC-TV18 estimates, Q2 net sales are seen down 25% at Rs 880 crore versus Rs 1177.8 crore.

 

The company's operating profit is seen down at Rs 254 crore versus Rs 537 crore.

 

Its OPM is seen down at 29% versus 46%.

 

Its net profit is seen down 47% at Rs 271 crore versus Rs 512.8 crore.

 

Key Factors to watch for:

-Over all de- growth in numbers can be attributed to 2 factors:

1)Absence of exclusivity based Pantaprazole sales (pantaprazole sales are expected to be negligible)

2) US FDA concerns at Caraco

- 2QFY10 is  Sun Pharma's first quarter after the US FDA action led to closure of its subsidiary's manufacturing facilities in Detroit, US

-Domestic  business is expected to post a strong 19% growth.
