If you are planning to buy a property in Delhi & NCR and have fixed some budget for it, Keep it to yourself because your budget might tempt the con mans in realty business.

With the whooping crime rate in Delhi/NCR, Police recently have claimed to solve few cases which might shock you.

Property related crime rates are at a hike, recently five people were held where a DDA flat in Munirka Vihar was sold multiples times and cheated the buyers for more than Rs.5 crore.

In another case solved by UP Police, the abduction of Joint Director, Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) Mr.Singh has revealed shocking facts for the people who are looking to buy a property in Delhi & NCR. UP Police said that “The victim expressed his desire to buy a bungalow and had revealed his budget to the realtors. Along with that he also offered to pay a whooping amount of Rs.1.5 cr for the deal to the realtors, which tempted two of the accused to kidnap him for ransom".

So is it safe to disclose your budget to the realtor, agents / brokers specially when there is no authority that restricts them from unfair and illegal practices? On this Zonal Head, Real Estate Development Council of Haryana (REDCOH) says "Without sharing your budget the real estate people can not help customers with enormous projects. One needs to know budget for exploring and sharing more projects which lies with in the budget of the customer. But we need to have some regulatory authority such as ours (REDCOH) in Delhi/NCR / UP, who not only regulates and certifies the real estate agents/ brokers/ developers but also restricts them from unfair and criminal trade practices."

But is it the end or only way to control these sorts of crimes? Specially, when there are hundreds of online property portal, serving as a search engine for the listing of various projects, are doing the same thing by exposing the privacy and contact details of the property buyers who register themselves on those websites of the brokers & agents. Mr. Raj Sharma, CEO-Best Property Deals says "It is true that various websites do not follow the privacy policies of not disclosing the details of the customers to the agents/brokers. Customers once get registered on the website and shows interest on any projects, their details are passed to the agents/brokers immediately. To control these types of issues, websites must react in a responsible manner and should change such unfair practices."

In the competitive industry such as Real Estate it is tough to find out one's intention but by taking little precautions and being a bit more responsible might help customers to stay safe and secure.
