The 'TAB 2013' Conference brings together up to 250 small and medium enterprise owners, prospective entrepreneurs, and individuals who are looking to carve a niche for themselves in the GCC countries with regards to trade and business opportunities, as well as entrepreneurs who are looking to expand their setup in India.

I am sure the SME sector will play a pivotal role in India's development and lead to being world superpower in near future. So through IACC we are creating this wonderful opportunity for SME to connect, explore and grow their business"

The conference will focus on two major issues concerning the SMEs' in India: Technology and competence. We will have influential leaders featuring from the economic and business sectors, keynote addresses, workshops and panel sessions that will deliver compelling discussions aimed at understanding industry dynamics to uncover the massive expansion and investment opportunities and address underlying issues for SMEs in India who would like to set up or expand their businesses in the Middle East.

Asif Iqbal, Executive Director , Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce stated "TAB is an annual event which will bring together policy makers from Arab world and India thereby creating more smooth pathway for Indian companies wanting to go to the Arab world. There is no structured organisation for creating the bridge between these two entities and TAB will be the right platform."

One of the objectives of this conference is to enlarge the small and medium size enterprise base in the Middle East. It is vital to broaden this enterprise base through consecutive growth and expansion. Be it a start-up organisation, or a plan to expand in the Middle East, The Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce provides one with the platform to reach up and grab the trade opportunity with both hands. Along with financial or technical support, the SMEs would benefit by the revision of a favourable legal structure, prevention of entry barriers into some economic sectors and market-based competition mechanisms that will encourage entrepreneurship and nurture the SMEs sector growth.

Ravi Shankar Adiga, Director - Investor Advocacy, Indo Arab Chamber of Commerce highlights the importance stating "Small and Medium Enterprises play a vital role for the growth of Indian economy by contributing 45% of the industrial output, 40% of exports, 42 million in employment. TAB 2013 will create a fantastic opportunity for the SME sector to explore and expand beyond domestic market. TAB 2013 promises to provide the next leap for the Indian SMEs by opening a platform to connect with the opportunities that exist in the Arab world. IACC is excited to launch this flagship event for the SME sector now, as the interest shown in both Arab and Indian businesses to collaborate is high"

SMEs mark the backbone of the economy as they bag the highest contribution to a nation’s growth. Along with the commercial and financial contribution, this sector also helps in employment, diversified scope and industrial growth thus enabling a self-motivated and a self-dependent future.
