The political fallout of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cash cleanup has seen even key NDA allies like the Shiv Sena up in arms. Down south, several regional parties have joined the Congress and the Left in protesting the move. But the one regional party that's not been saying much on the ground at least is the AIADMK, reports CNBC-TV18's Jude Sannith.
Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa has been admitted in a hospital since late September. This overall silence has experts saying the party has found itself rudderless.
The party, meanwhile, is quick to point out that this lack of stance has nothing to do with Jayalalithaa's absence, and a lot to do with its belief that protests won't solve the people's problems.
