Mumbai lawyer wishes to 'reunite' with Obama at White House

Even as the world celebrates Barack Obama becoming the 44th President of the United States, nearly all countries are scouting around for that elusive Obama connection. In Mumbai, there is a lawyer who was sharpening his legal skills as Obama's senior at Harvard.

Here is a verbatim transcript of Ashwin Mohan’s comments on CNBC-TV18. Also watch the accompanying video.

It's been one heck of a coincidence for legal eagle Porus Kaka. The lawyer was completing his Masters at Harvard in 1991 at a time when Barack Obama was doing a basic bachelors' degree in law. Kaka, who specializes in international taxation, says Obama exhibited all the leadership traits that have made him a global icon for millions of African-Americans, not to mention the first black president of the United States of America.

Porus F Kaka, Advocate said, "He was the first African-American to become the editor of the Harvard Law Review, it's a prestigious journal, and that itself shows, that he had leadership qualities way back then itself in Harvard at that point of time as a student."

Kaka says the entire batch is looking forward to welcome the charismatic Obama at the next reunion, which is slated to take place in 2011. Obama, who battled Hillary Clinton for a democratic nomination and then went on to defeat John McCain for the post of the US President, skipped over the previous alumni gathering in 2006.

Porus F Kaka, Advocate said, "Well, we certainly missed having Mr. Obama in the 15th reunion which took place just two years ago in Boston and I think somebody joked in lighter vein, because he had just started his campaign out there, that he might be a little busy and not able to attend. We are all hoping as students to have him at the 20th reunion, which happens in another three years time, when he will still be President."

Kaka has his fingers crossed and is looking forward to an unconventional venue next time around. Porus F Kaka, Advocate said, "Well, hopefully, it will be in the White House!!!"
