BJP firebrand leader Uma Bharti won't contest elections, cites age and health factor

The MP from Jhansi said she was a two-time Member of Parliament and since she had done a lot of party work, her health had been affected. The BJP leader elaborated by saying she had been facing problems with her knees and back.

Firebrand BJP leader, Union Minister Uma Bharti has said that she would not be contesting elections anymore citing age and health issues. Working in the interest of the party will continue though.

The MP from Jhansi said she was a two-time Member of Parliament and since she had done a lot of party work, her health had been affected. The BJP leader elaborated by saying she had been facing problems with her knees and back.

Speaking to media in Jhansi, Uma Bharti said, “I have been a two-time Parliamentarian and have worked a lot for the party over year due to which I have developed problems in my knees. Now I will not contest any more elections but will continue to work for the party.”
