Fidelity MF launched Global Real Assets Fund

Fidelity Mutual Fund has launched Fidelity Global Real Assets Fund, an open ended fund of funds scheme.  The investment objective of the scheme is to generate long-term capital growth from a portfolio which will be primarily invested in Fidelity Funds - Global Real Asset Securities Fund, an offshore fund launched by Fidelity Funds (an open ended investment company incorporated in Luxembourg) and similar to an Indian mutual fund scheme.

The new fund offer (NFOs) open for subscription from January 11, 2010 and closes on January 29, 2010. The face value of the new issue will be Rs 10 per unit. (View - New Fund Offers open NOW)

The scheme offers growth and dividend options. Dividend option offers dividend payout and dividend reinvestment facilities.

The minimum investment amount is Rs 5000. For additional purchase minimum application amount is Rs 1000.

There is no Entry Load in the scheme. Exit Load of 1% For redemptions within 1 year from the date of allotment or purchase applying first in first out basis. A switch-out or a withdrawal under SWP or a transfer under STP may also attract an Exit Load/CDSC like any Redemption. No Exit Load/CDSC will be chargeable in case of switches made between different options of the Scheme. No Exit Load will be chargeable in case of redemption of Units allotted on account of dividend reinvestments; and Units issued by way of bonus, if any.

The scheme will invest 80% to 100% of assets in shares / units of the underlying scheme / foreign securities with high risk profile and up-to 20% of assets in money market instruments and / or liquid / cash schemes of mutual funds registered with SEBI with low to medium risk profile. The Underlying Scheme may have equity exposure through investments in shares, depositary receipts, investment trusts, stapled securities, warrants and other participation rights. Subject to the foregoing, the Underlying Scheme may have equity exposure, to a limited extent, through investment in convertible securities, index and participation notes and equity linked notes. The Underlying Scheme may also invest in Exchange Traded Funds subject to the maximum limit specified under the Regulations from time to time.

Benchmark Index is a blend of the following indices - MSCI ACWI Industrials, MSCI ACWI Real Estate, MSCI ACWI Utilities, MSCI Materials and MSCI Energy. The weights assigned to each individual index while calculating the custom benchmark is 20%, 20%, 10%, 20% and 30% respectively.
 
Subramanian Balakrishnan will be the fund manager for the scheme.
