NAVs slip impacted by markets heavy sell-off

Equity Funds plunged as markets ended lower. Meanwhile debt funds closed flat.

Equity Funds plunge led by market’s heavy sell off on Tuesday with the key benchmark indices closing at 3-month low, impacted by European concerns.

None of the funds in the Equity space could manage to end in positive terrain.

In the sectoral space, Pharma & Healthcare and Banking & Finance were impacted the most with the respective indices down by over 2 per cent.

The market session close with Sensex at 19,015.14 down by 316.55 points or Nifty at 5,761.35 down by 93.40 point.

Among Fixed Income, the returns of Long term debt funds fell after RBI’s announcement of OMO (Open Market Operation) worth 10,000 cr to ease tight cash conditions. Meanwhile funds in the Short term domain continued to deliver stable performance.
